Ambon, Aug 4 (Antaranews Maluku) - Director of Cultural Heritage and Diplomacy of the Ministry Education and Culture, Nadjamuddin Ramly, said that the presence of the Orquestra de Camara de Sierro (OCAS) team in Ambon was part of Indonesian and Spanish cultural diplomacy.

"The presence of a Spanish orchestra in the city of Ambon is part of the cultural diplomacy of Indonesia and Spain, because the two cultures are fused through music," he stated, during the 2018 Vinculos performance for Indonesia 2018 at Ambon Cultural Park, on Saturday.

He noted that a series of collaborative musical concerts with local musicians, entitled Vinculos For Indonesia 2018, began from the city of Ambon and continued to Sigi, Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi, Pekanbaru Riau, and Jakarta.

"This music collaboration is also an effort to commemorate 60 years of Indonesia-Spain diplomatic relations in August 2018," he remarked.

The Ministry of Education and Culture revealed that Ramly supported the Vinculos performance in Indonesia, as an effort to regenerate the awareness of Indonesian civilization.

Vinculos for Indonesia began the show and conducted a workshop in 2017 in two cities, namely Samosir of North Sumatra and Thousand Islands of Jakarta. In 2018, it returns to Indonesia to conduct collaboration concerts, education, workshops, and a number of cultural and social activities.

"The presence of Spanish musicians is also an effort to introduce the great world of Indonesia, especially the city of Ambon, to the whole world through media and social media coverage," he stated.

Ambon Deputy Mayor Syarief Hadler also expressed his appreciation for the presence of a Spanish orchestra team in the city of Ambon.

"Ocas` presence in Ambon is an effort to encourage the city`s fulfillment as a world music city in 2019," he added.

Hadler added that realizing Ambon as a world music city required conditions such as international music concerts.

"We hope that the collaboration of orchestral music and local musicians will be a valuable experience for the city of Ambon, as well as for the Ocas team to convey positive things about Ambon, whether it is community hospitality or custom and culture," he pointed out.
