Ternate (Antara Maluku) - The embassy of Switzerland will cooperate with the administration of the Ternate City, North Maluku to support the education programs it implements.
"The Swiss government, via its General Consulate in Makassar, has asked the administration of Ternate to establish cooperation in education, tourism, creative economy, as well as medium and small scale industries," the Deputy Mayor of Ternate, Arifin Djafar, said here Saturday.
According to him, efforts to ensure such cooperation were initiated after the visit of the representative of the General Consulate of Switzerland in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Lilian.
"The Swiss government will also provide scholarships to our students in higher educational institutions. For the masters degree, the education program will be conducted in Swiss," Arifin said.
Also, Switzerland will participate in the cultural carnival to commemorate Ternate`s birthday in December.
"Swiss culture will be showcased at the event," Arifin said, adding that the two sides will look for explore ways to together explore the seaweed potential of Ternate.
Arifin explained that the administration is now preparing a proposal for such cooperation, and will present the plans and programs to the General Consulate of Swiss.
