Ambon, Maluku, Feb 26 (Antara) - Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla deserves to be the father of peace, unity and diversity, according to General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Islamic-based organization, Haedar Nasir.

"What had been done by Pak (Mr) Jusuf Kalla regarding peace, unity and diversity, did not merely constitute rhetorical matters," Nasir said in his address at the closing ceremony of Tanwir (leaders meeting) of Muhammadiyah here on Sunday.

Looking at efforts already carried out by Jusuf Kalla, better known as JK, in a bid to continue encouraging the sustainability of peace, unity and diversity of Indonesia, it was very appropriate that Muhammadiyah named JK as the father of peace and diversity.

"JK has given golden trip to this nation," Nasir pointed out.

Additionally, JK has done a lot of supports and assistance to Muhammadiyah in running various programs for the benefit of the people, one of them is the floating health care clinic Said Tuhuleley which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo at the opening of Tanwir Muhammadiyah on Friday (Feb 24, 2017).

The floating health care clinic has run its first medical mission at the Islands of Saparua and Haruku on February 25, 2017 by involving three physicians from three Islamic hospitals in Jakarta.

"Said Tuhuleley is the current popular program thanks to the assistance and support from JK. All together will be 16 ships (to be used for the floating health care clinics) for the eastern regions of Indonesia," Nasir explained.

Apart from that, JK will also give Rp5 billion to construct the Muhammadiyah University in the Wakal village, Maluku Tengah District.

The university will be built along with the Maluku Muhammadiyah hospital, the Muhammadiyah Agriculture, Education and Training Centers of all Indonesian eastern regions at the 20 hectares of land as a grant from the local village administration, he added.
