Ternate, N Maluku, Oct 15 (Antara) - Four persons were killed as their speedboat Bintang Fajar GT6 caught fire on its way from Jailolo Halmahera Barat (West Halmahera) to Ternate city, North Maluku, on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Rosalina Soamole (33), Nikolaus Tameti (56), Basri Rajaki (87) and Yamin (40), according to a Ternate port official, Arifai, here on Saturday.
Another boat passenger and his child were reported missing, he stated, adding that the ill-fated boat caught fire after it left the Jailolo port around one mile away from the port.
Arifai further said tens of passengers jumped into the sea to escape the fire that engulfed the speedboat.
