Ambon, Maluku, March 30 (Antara) - Two foreign fishing boats would be destroyed on April 1 this year for illegally operating in Indonesian waters.

The two boats KM Sino 26 and KM Sino 35 are owned by Merauke-based PT. Sino Indonesia Sunlida Fishing, chief of the main navy base in Ambon Rear Admiral Nur Singgih Prihartono said here on Thursday.

The two boats are part of 8 fishing vessels caught poaching in Indonesia`s Economic Exclusive Zone by the sea security task force in December, 2014. The six other vessels were KM Sino 15 (275 GT), KM Sino 26 (265 GT), KM Sino 36 (268 GT), KM Sino 35 (268 GT), KM Sino 27 (265 GT), and KM Sino (33 GT).

The two boats flying the Papua New Guinea flag, would be destroyed together with a number of other vessels in 11 different locations in the country. Marine and Fishery Minister Susi Pudjiastuti as chief of the task force would supervise the sinking of the vessels.
