Ambon, Maluku, Feb 16 (Antara)- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to officially open a leadership meeting of Muhammadiyah, the country`s second-largest Muslim organization, here, on Feb 24.

"I have met the president, and he agreed to visit Ambon for the second time (this month) following the National Press Day 2017," Maluku Governor Said Assagaff stated here, Thursday.

The Muhammadiyah leadership meeting will be held until Feb 26. The commemoration of Press Day was held in Ambon on Feb 8-9, 2017.

The meeting will be held at the Ambon Islamic Center.

On Feb 13, Muhammadiyah Chairman Haedar Nashir informed the president of the plan to hold the leadership meeting.

"The Tanwir (meeting) of Muhammadiyah, which is the most important meeting after the congress, will be organized in Ambon on Feb 24-26. Alhamdulillah (Thank God), Insha Allah (God Willing), the president will deliver an address during this meeting," Nashir stated.

At the meeting themed "Sovereignty and Social Justice," Jokowi will deliver a speech on economic justice.
