Ambon (AntaraMaluku) - The Supreme Audit Board`s (BPK`s) Chairman Harry Azhar Azis has asked all 34 provinces in Indonesia to immediately report the financial performance index for each region.

Azis said the data is important because it pertains to the welfare of the people in the area.

"Until now, none of the 34 provinces have reported the financial performance index data, although the report is very important for determining the correlation between regional development benefits and public welfare in each province," Azis said on Saturday.

He further noted that the financial performance index should be reported immediately so that the BPK can make assess the performance of each province, because numerous provinces predicate their "Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian" (Unqualified Opinion) on the financial report.

"Some provinces have to base their `Unqualified Opinion` for the last three consecutive years, but strangely enough, the incidence of poverty and unemployment continues to rise," he remarked.
