Ternate, N Maluku, June 10 (Antara) - State-owned power utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said it will build a gas machine fired power plant (PLTMG) in Mamuya Galela, North Halmahera, North Maluku province, with a capacity of 30 megawatts this year.
Manager of PLN branch in North Halmahera district Amran Ali said construction of the plant has been under way and it is to be completed this year.
"The new power plant will strengthen power supply system in North Halmahera to contribute to economic development in the district. Electricity has become vital for economic development in North Halmahera," Amran said.
Installation already began and electric poles have been erected by the contractor using concrete poles, he said.
