Ambon (Antara Maluku) - Fifteen yachts taking part in the International Darwin-Ambon Yacht Race and Rally (DAYR) 2013 have crossed the finish line at the Negeri Amahusu beach in Nusaniwe, Ambon, so far.
The yachts had set off from Darwin, Australia, on August 17, said James, a spokesman of the organizing committee, here on Thursday.
He added that two more yachts are expected to reach the finishing line on Thursday afternoon.
From the Racing Monohull IRC Division, four yachts - Australian Maid (skippered by John Wardill), Sue Sea (Brian Todd), Gameset (John Mulkearns), and Evan Karma (Skipper John Hardy) - have arrived.
Four yachts racing in the Competitive Cruising Monohull Division - Liguidity II (captained by Greg Dix), Madame Lau (John Jordan), Jupiter Express (Doug Carlin), and Maggie Drum (Duncan Woodhead) - have entered Ambon.
In the Competitive Cruising Multihull category, two yachts - Second Innings (skippered by Peter Flynn) and Cattitude (Jim Grierson) - have reached the finishing line.
Meanwhile, five yachts racing under the Rally Division - Eye Spy DJ (captained by Paul Hussein), Sirocco Of Oz (John Watson), Magnetic Attraction (Milton Messer), Albatross II (Nathan Powell), and Ezylivin (John Burn) - have also reached Ambon.
