Ambon (Antara Maluku) - The organizing committee of the Catholic Ecclesiastical Choir Festival of Maluku Province has invited the Vatican Ambassador to Indonesia Antonio Guido Filipazzi to attend the function to be held in Dobo on October 26-30, 2014.
The chairman of the organizing committee, Arens Uniplaitta, stated here on Monday that the committee will coordinate with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Maluku provincial administration as well as the Institute of Coaching and Development of the Catholic Ecclesiastical, Ambonina Diocese, to invite the ambassador.
"The presence of the ambassador is expected to motivate interreligious harmony in Aru Islands, which is geographically adjacent to Australia," he added.
The presence of the ambassador will also motivate and encourage the Institute of Coaching and Development of the Catholic Ecclesiastical in organizing the national Catholic ecclesiastical, as such a competition had not been held before.
"Many parishes from other provinces have signed up to participate in the event in order to encourage the national Catholic ecclesiastical," Arens said, adding that an intensive coordination existed among the related parties.
"We have also involved the Indonesian Ulema Council and Maluku Christian Churches of Aru Islands as well as all the national components for the ecclesiastical festival," Arens noted.
So far, 2,436 people have registered to compete in 17 events, he added.
